MUSIC VIDEO! - PLEASE ILLUMINATI (Zeitgeist Rise)
This is the first video I made for DT & The Wizzards.
In March 2011, Derek sent me the audio file of this track from a jam. He thought it would be better with some lyrics. I wrote some lyrics and used "Garage Band" to lay down the vocals. It was a good song.
So, I re-recorded while filming, and made a video for Derek's 40th birthday.
This was a big step in the development of DT & The Wizzards. With this song, and this video we had created a way for me to be in the band even though I live Toronto.
CRANK IT UP!
I feel that PLEASE ILLUMINATI (Zeitgeist Rise) is a good example of the stylistic flexibility of DT & The Wizzards. The Band is proficient in the fundementals of jazz & rock & the blues and a lot of other music and this track, for me, was screaming out for a hip-hop approach to the lyrics.

ReTRo PoST - Amherst Independent Music Festival (bANdECDOTE 1)

This is the day that the DT & The WIZZARDS project got started for me.
We had jammed the night before. We didn't know it, but we had recorded most of the first ever DT & The WIZZARDS album that night. The album was called 100% IMPROVISED, 'cause it was!
On the road trip Derek and I "jammed" ideas about DT & The WIZZARDS. This was the day that a seed was planted.
We also had a great time hanging out with The FeD PeNNieS (a band Derek used to play with) and we send out our support to The Amherst Independent Music Festival. Cheeers!,.!........ and thanks Mandy!

This is an important song in the DT & The Wizzard historical spellbook.
The instrumental track was recorded during a jam session and the next day Derek made the decision to give a microphone to Darcy. After listening to it, Darcy wrote a few loose lines of dialogue and improvised the rest of the lyrics that were inspired by the instrumental track.
Darcy also used the environment of Digital Dungeon Studio, Alice Cooper's Welcome to My Nightmare and the Doors as a guide for this song.
